Adam Gibson

Adam Gibson's Biography

In 1981, after spending several years as an apprentice to a local craftsman in New Jersey, Adam formed his first home improvement company. Then, after touring forty nine states and several countries, his attempt at a full-time career in music, begun in 1989, led to his tiring of the starving artist's lifestyle and settling down. He happily returned to the industry as a designer and general contractor in 1994.

Although actual construction is no longer part of his business, Adam Gibson's experience as a contractor enables him to design for real life; despite that many projects are uniquely cutting edge, his designs are created with the practical in mind. Meaning, he understands realistically how something is built, and unlike the majority of designers, its probable cost.

In the late '90's Adam implemented detailed, full-color renderings so clients without blueprint experience could envision their project in three dimensions, much like a photograph. You'll see samples in the portfolio section of this site.

Designing for both commercial and residential, the majority of residential projects either incorporate or focus upon kitchens and baths. Adam is accredited both as a Certified Kitchen Designer (CKD) and a Certified Bath Designer (CBD) by the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA), the trade organization for kitchen and bath design.

Firmly entrenched in Indianapolis since 2003 as an independent designer, his projects range from traditional to ultra-contemporary, to merely eclectic. The common thread is thoughtful and creative design for everyday living and working.
