Construction Documents

Construction Documents

Construction documents are the nuts and bolts of the project. They depict in both two and three dimensions exactly how the project should be facilitated. From footing diagrams to cabinetry shadow lines, from lighting details to window styles, each and every detail is clearly outlined. Little is left to chance.

Depending on the complexity of the project, the specification document that accompanies the construction documents can be a hefty hundred pages, or as few as ten. Because we value quality craftsmanship and enduring materials, and have extensive experience as a high-end general contractor, we suggest very specific construction practices. These specifications often supersede those of local codes, and are almost certainly more than the average designer provides. Specifications outline the responsibilities of the contractor, work site behavior, warranties, etc.

Along with construction diagrams and specification text, a selection document is created. Again, depending on how much involvement the client has requested, this document may outline lighting and plumbing fixtures, paint colors, wood species, who should provide each item, and sometimes even pictures of the selections.
